Contrast

February 23, 2021

A series of four digital artworks, each anchored in a single colour — blue, red, yellow, and black — set against backgrounds featuring the word contrast translated into multiple languages. The collection reflects on how every corner of the world faces struggles, yet the weight of those struggles is not equally shared.

  • Red: a hand carefully holding an anti-aircraft missile shell, larger than their own hand, questioning fragility and destruction.
  • Yellow: a cell split in two — one side healthy and smooth, the other diseased — representing the fine line between life and vulnerability.
  • Blue: a cloud that divides itself, half white and half black, symbolizing shifting states of hope and despair.
  • Black: a haunting composition merging a child’s cradle with a child’s coffin, evoking the fragility of innocence.

Created as both experimentation and therapy, this collection blends visual minimalism with heavy contrasts, inviting reflection on the dualities of human existence.
